I have been writing and recording new material to post on Motion Array and specifically acoustic folk instrumentals. One of my latest productions is one entitled "Glory Of Sunset" that features my Santa Cruz OM acoustic guitar, soft piano, bass, light drums and percussion. This is one of my favorite instruments and my go to when I'm recording acoustic guitar. It's a beautiful guitar with a sweet, warm and mellow tone.
Take a listen below to the guitar and the song.
This will be my last post for 2023. Wishing you and yours a wonderful, happy and healthy 2024! Blessings as you follow and fulfill your dreams.
I appreciate my friend Clyde Edgerton having me over a few days ago to record several minutes of his wood fireplace. I have a fireplace but it's a gas fire and you can't get much crackling from a gas fire! Clyde is a nationally known author and is a multi-talented individual with musical and artistic talents galore. He has an amazing sense of humor and I enjoy his friendship. Thanks for the sounds Clyde!
I used my Sennheiser MKH8040 stereo pair microphones to record the fireplace along with my trusty Zoom F3 recorder. This is a killer combination.
This sound will be available on Motion Array within the next several days.
Take a listen to the fireplace below.
A week or so ago I recorded some running footsteps out in my neighborhood. I used my Audio Technica BP4025 and Zoom F3 recorder to make the recording. I put the microphone on a boom pole to get the running sound and I recorded the breathing by itself after I had run (and got a bit winded!). By recording it separately I was able to easily adjust it in post for the proper volume against the footsteps.
This sound is now available for purchase on Motion Array under the name Running Steps.
Take a listen to it below.
There's something about a real mechanical watch that fascinates me. I tried wearing an Apple Watch for a bit and it was cool but I missed wearing a real mechanical watch. I really like Omega watches and own a couple of them. My everyday watch is an Omega Seamaster from the 1960s with a black dial and black leather band and I have a silver one for more dressier occasions. These are great watches and it will be neat to pass them on down to my son and eventually my grandsons. I have my dad's 1950's Bulova and wear it from time to time. It still works great and it brings back so many memories of my dad. I'm grateful to have it. There's just something about a REAL ticking watch!
I just bought a used mechanical stopwatch off of eBay and today I recorded it for a "stopwatch ticking sound effect". Take a listen to it below. The picture to the left is the actual stopwatch I bought and recorded.
This particular sound will be available on Motion Array within the next week or two.
This is a photo of me and my five year old granddaughter Myla from yesterday. I am blessed with six grandchildren and they are all very talented and special children. From time to time they are able to help me with some sounds and yesterday Myla and her little brother Cameron gave me a few. I recorded them shouting "Merry Christmas" together and they also counted from one to ten for me. Take a listen below to Myla's counting. She did an excellent job!
This sound will be available for purchase on AudioJungle within the next several days.
Thanks Myla! Granddaddy loves you bunches!!!
