Using Logic Pro X and various plugins along with a track of me slow breathing I created a Mysterious Spooky Ambient Background perfect for Horror projects.  I started with a recording of low wind blowing through the trees that I already had.  I sampled it down a bit to give it more of an eerie feel.  Then I added a recording of me breathing slowly into the microphone and mixed it with a ton of reverb.  I used several waterphone sounds including bows and tine plucks.  Then I added some Spitfire Audio percussion sounds from Lee Bertucci's acoustic shadows.  He has some wonderful musical and percussion samples that work perfect for producing eerie, spooky sounds and music.  I mixed it out with UAD's Capitol Chambers on the master output to give it even more reverent ambience.  Turn out the lights and turn up the volume and I guarantee with a little imagination and the sound of this track you will find yourself in a dark, scary place!  What a fun project.  This sound will be available to purchase on AudioJungle.com within the next couple of weeks.  The entire length is 1:57.

I took advantage of a beautiful, clear almost windless day to record the sound effect of riding a bicycle in a neighborhood.  Using my trusty lightweight Earth Cruiser bike, a Sony PCM D-10 portable recorder and a stereo pair of microUsi LOM microphones we accomplished what I was hoping for.  Grateful for the windbubbles to help block out the wind. I also used a LCF low cut at 150Hz to help block out some of the troublesome frequencies.  It worked great!  I used some painters tape to help secure the microphones.  One was placed near the back tire spokes and another about 12 inches away near the pedals.  It gave me some nice stereo separation. I was able to pull some more of the low frequencies down in post and added some compression (UAD UA 1176LN) to help bring up the mix a bit.  This sound will be available for purchase on AudioJungle soon.  Use the search words:  Riding Bicycle In Neighborhood under Apple Hill Studios.
