Happy that one of my sounds has been licensed by the Turner Broadcasting Cartoon Network for use in The Bare Bears Cartoon show. It will be in one of their Christmas episodes.I continue to build my sound effects library with lots of different cartoon voices including hi-pitched "minion-like" sounds. I usually start with my Neumann U87 to record the vocalizations and then mix them out so I can sample them. Then I pitch the samples up using my keyboard and then drop them back into Logic Pro X to add EQ and compression. Some of my minion sounds have been incorporated into the well known Youtube Fuzzy Puppet Show cartoon.
Producing various Game Sound Effects has been very rewarding the last couple of years. I have been very happy with the number of sales I have received and there seems to be endless creative possibilities in this arena. In addition to sound effects I have produced several musical interludes for the gaming community. I have a number of different sound effects such as audience responses, body punch sounds, game announcer sounds, coin collect sounds, game over sounds, game bonus sounds, etc. If you're interested in having a custom game sound recorded for you please use my contact page to send me a note.
I recently came into the possession of a Bamboo Cane about 4.5 feet long and used it to make several sound effects. I started by recording fast downward motion swishes by positioning a stereo pair of Sennheiser MKH 8040 microphones along with a Neumann KMR 81 Shotgun microphone. From those sounds I was able to sample them and play them back in different pitches and lengths. They work great for whoosh sounds and for creating Kung Fu fighting sound effects. With a little work I was also able to create the sound of an Axe Throw Sound Effect whistling through the air.
